Your photos already know where you've been. Contrail reads their dates and locations, groups them into trips automatically, and turns your camera roll into a map — entirely on your phone.
Contrail asks once. It only ever reads the date and location each photo was taken — never the image itself.
No upload, no server, no waiting on anyone else's infrastructure. Your library never leaves your device.
Trips, countries, cities and stats, worked out automatically — and easy to correct by hand if anything looks off.
Contrail looks at your photos in time order and works out where one trip ends and the next begins — no dates to enter, no albums to sort by hand.
Every country and city you've actually been to, shaded in and pinned — built from your real travel history, not a wishlist.
How much of the world you've actually seen, and where to go next — concrete numbers pulled from trips you already took.
Today, Contrail has no account, no server, and no analytics. Every trip is worked out on this device and stays there — not shared, not uploaded, not synced anywhere, unless you specifically choose to.
Contrail looks at your photos in time order and starts a new trip wherever two consecutive photos are 200+ km apart and at least a day apart. A same-day jump between places (a plane change, say) stays merged into whatever it's part of — unless both sides are already substantial, multi-day stays, in which case it splits anyway.
Contrail treats wherever you've spent the most total time — not necessarily the most-photographed place — as home. Home's country still counts toward your countries-visited total, but home itself never appears as a trip. You confirm or correct this right after your first scan.
No. Scanning your library, figuring out where each photo was taken, and grouping photos into trips all happen entirely on-device — no account, no server, no network call anywhere in that process. If a future version ever adds an optional way to share something yourself, that will always be your choice, never automatic.
While Contrail should get most trips right, nothing gets every trip right every time. Open any trip and tap Edit to change its title, dates, photos, cover, or countries and cities. You can also add a trip from scratch, or delete one.
